About the Role

Based at Warwick this is a new role for a Head of Product Design to lead the Business Analysts and User Experience Designers to set and evolve the creative direction of the Summit Automotive platform.  Working closely with the Product Manager and Head of Platform, you will ensure that the product requirements from both client and internal stakeholders are translated into high-quality user stories and user interface deliverables so that platform development is undertaken to exact product specifications.

Being a lead product design role, you will be comfortable in owning the product design strategy and balancing the commercial needs of the business with client and internal stakeholder needs, ensuring the Business Analysts and UX Designers have the right focus and direction.

This permanent opportunity is for a Head of Product Design who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and bring a high level of strategy and governance into a start-up environment. The Automotive teams are based from central London (Soho) and Warwick, with third-party teams in Romania and Prague. We are looking for someone to be based out of our Warwick for the majority, with travel to our other sites as and when required.  

About You

With extensive working experience and knowledge in a medium to large-scale web and e-commerce environment, you will have operated at a similar "Head of" level where you have set and owned the product design strategy on one or more platforms that are imperative to an organisations business strategy and growth plan.

Working across Client Delivery Managers, Project Managers and Product Management you will ensure platform requirements are correctly collated, prioritised, documented and delivered efficiently to internal and external development teams, supported by the relevant user experience requirements to support development.  You will have:

• Demonstrable experience in leading UX teams to deliver a strong portfolio of work showcasing UX and visual skills.
• Demonstrable experience in leading Business Analysts teams to collate platform requirements to inform the product design and development lifecycle.
• Demonstrable experience in coping with a technically complex platform and fast-changing environment, responding calmly and rationally to changes in business direction in a deadline-driven situation.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of user experience design principles.
• In-depth and extensive experience of Agile processes and software development methodologies.
