Eastnine is a brand new audio coaching service for runners built around the idea that it’s better to train with others. Working with professional athletes and coaches from Team GB and beyond, we’re building a digital training platform to give you structured audio running sessions and creative sports content when and where you want it.

Runners belong at the heart of our product development so we’re looking for a UX Design Researcher to join our team in London and help make this happen.

With backing from some of Europe’s top VCs and angels, we’re building an exciting team around a healthy cause. Come join us.

OVERALL ROLE

_Find creative ways to continuously involve runners in our product development

_Be the main instigator in our product research and a go-to voice of runners within our team, making sure that we can make product decisions and set priorities with a candid understanding of what runners want and need

_Translate conversations with runners and observation of their behaviour into some of the most loved UX design in our category – you will have a major hand in shaping experiences that merge the worlds of fitness, entertainment, data and gaming

_Work with our head of product to prepare and put into practice research plans that strategically answer the big questions that we are facing

Connect

_Find creative ways to talk to and observe runners regularly, delivering a steady flow of fresh perspectives from both our members and non-members

_Maintain genuine, open dialogue with networks of runners across the running community so that there are always opinions we can call on – be active in forums, participate in events and have a presence on our social media channels

Understand

_Conduct interviews, host discussion groups and design research studies that help us tune in to what runners really want and how they realistically respond to our product and content

_Find and develop efficient research techniques tailored to the questions we need to answer – these are likely to include depth interviews, surveys, discussion groups, usability tests, remote research, additional desk research, expert interviews, social listening, A/B tests, etc.

_Build and manage a bank of meaningful insight that helps inspire and direct our efforts, from initial concept development through to detailed UX/UI design

Develop

_Help spot the big issues and opportunities for us to address

_Analyse insights through the lens of product and content solutions so that we can quickly act on them

_Develop concepts and hypotheses to improve our product experience, working across phone, watch and audio UX

_Build quick, vivid prototypes for testing these ideas with runners

Share

_Share what you learn with the rest of our team so that we all develop an innate understanding of who we are developing for

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

_Someone with a strong academic background in design, psychology, HCI or equivalent

_At least 2 years of user research experience

_A persuasive people person, able to quickly build connections and ease people into natural, honest conversations

_A maker and hustler, not just a thinker – you’re someone who gets their hands dirty getting to smart, practical solutions quickly

_A natural collaborator and communicator who also has the resource to go it alone

_Always keen to pull on some trainers and go for a run
