About the Role:

We are looking for a UX Researcher with experience in a range of qualitative testing methods to work closely with our design teams. You’ll ensure high usability and uncover opportunities for both our customer facing experiences and the tools that power them. You’ll accomplish this through remote/in-person user testing, competitive audits, session recordings, and analytic analysis.

You are the perfect candidate to join our Design & UX team if you have a discerning eye for usability, interaction design, and are an eager collaborator. You have the ability to define and execute research initiatives, as well as work with design/product teams to forecast and plan for research needs. This role will report directly into the Director of Product Design & UX and help shape the organizations approach to UX Research.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct usability research both online and in the field in order to provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements across our customer facing experiences (web, chat, app), as well as the internal-facing tools used to enable them.
  • Work with UX and product partners to determine user needs for new features and initiatives by conducting task-focused analyses, stakeholder interviews, brainstorms and usability testing.
  • Establish and grow relationships with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers, in order to make UX Research a presence in the organization.
  • Serve as a member of a team that acts as a 'repository' of research-based usability knowledge.

What you should have:

  • 3-4 years of experience working on tooling or dashboard products
  • Strong understanding of experience principles and customer needs such as motivations and behaviors, with the ability to translate them into engaging and actionable deliverables
  • Ability to create and present strategic experiences that ladder up into business strategy, goals, and opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical savvy audience members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure with little management
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of projects
  • Experience presenting to, and working with, cross-disciplinary teams
  • Have fluency with design research and survey tools.
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to create prototypes from UX or Design files plus
  • Startup experience a plus
  • Experience working with in ecommerce and/or customer service a plus
