Dave is the finance version of David and Goliath taking on the big banks. A financial friend to the millions of Americans who use the app, Dave helps with budgeting, building credit, finding work and accessing money to cover immediate expenses before payday. Instead of mandatory fees, Dave lets users pay what they think is fair through a ‘tip’ based model. Dave users plant a tree for each % tip they leave when taking an advance, resulting in tens of millions of trees planted.

What you'll do:
- Take design ownership of an entire department (ex. Banking)
- Own product design and direction for your department. This requires you to be actively involved in defining strategy as you will be a key contributor to defining your squad’s goals, success metrics, roadmap, and sprint commitments
- Drive collaboration with all stakeholders including execs (when necessary), UX Research, Product, Engineering teams
- Significant contributor to the building and maintenance of the Dave design system, and establishing UI/UX best practices for the entire Design team
- Mentor fellow designers, helping them to think more critically and strategically and improve their craftGrow the team, as needed, to meet business demands and manage the performance of key product designers in your department
- Participate in the recruitment process for Design in your respective squad and the Design org as a whole
- Increase Design knowledge across the entire companyInspire, motivate, and lead your team so that their work is filled with highlight reel moments they are proud of every quarter
- Enhance the performance and skill level of the entire design team, drive engineers and influence the whole business
- Deliver high-quality, polished, delightful, and easy to use designs
- Design and prototype multiple ideas quickly, and connect regularly with customers to validate product directions
What you'll need:
- 7+ years relevant product design experience in a product or design-focused tech company
- Practical experience shipping real products that solve real problems for real people
- Ability to create detailed and comprehensive information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and screen flows
- Demonstrated examples of building rapid prototypes with tools such as Framer, Figma, Origami, etc. and various user testing methodologies
- Expertise in your craft with tools such as Figma or Sketch
- Experience in either the building, development, and/or maintenance of a highly scaled design system
- Experience influencing beyond your immediate project or project team
- Previous in-person user research and effectively using the findings for design
- A portfolio demonstrating a clean visual aesthetic and strong eye for detail
