Cambridge Semantics Inc. has an immediate opening for a Lead UX Designer to support our award-winning big data management and analytics products. This is a senior interaction design and wireframe production role that will drive the end-to-end product release design process for one or more CSI products. This person will work directly with Product and Engineering resources to finalize requirements and iterate design to completion against a coordinated schedule that aligns with release dates and prioritization. They will produce standard UX design artifacts such as thumbnails, storyboards, wireframes, sprint demos or status presentations, etc. as each situation demands.  

 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design workshops with stakeholders
  • Motivate, collaborate, brainstorm, drive discussions, ask questions, iterate frequently, test when validation is needed
  • Deliver solid workflow and page design that meets business needs and achieves user goals, using a palette of defined UI controls and patterns
  • Engage with other UX, Product and Engineering team members to validate designs

Who you are:

  • You’re a Senior or Lead UX designer with at least 5 years’ experience designing and delivering Interaction Design for web applications or products 
  • You love working with others to solve complex design 
  • You prefer smaller teams and a faster pace
  • You appreciate both positive feedback and constructive criticism
  • Attention to balance and spatial aesthetics are part of your DNA

What you must have

  • An ability to think abstractly and strategically about IA and interaction design for a highly complex domain
  • An online portfolio with a range of interaction design artifacts demonstrating adaptability, clear aesthetic, and smart design decisions that you can speak to
  • A working fluency with Sketch, Adobe suite, Axure or similar programs
  • A solid understanding of how interfaces come together in a dynamic front end 
  • Exemplary collaboration, communication, presentation and organizational skills

Even Better

  • Prior experience with “Big Data”
  • Experience designing on top of a UI framework with a design system
  • Background in UI development; or a familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Angular
  • Additional skills in other areas of the UX spectrum, such as Visual Design or Research
  • An understanding of qualitative user research methods
