UX Researcher/Designer

The UX Researcher/ Design will be a critical member of establishing Softheon's consistent UIUX standards and UX strategy as part of the UIUX team with a focus conducting design research to inform the design process from discovery to wireframes and prototypes to visual design. The UX Researcher/ Design will lead and drive efforts to develop and execute research activities, methodologies and report findings to inform design development, including but not limited to: lab usability studies, heuristic evaluations, surveys, etc. The UX Researcher/ Design will deliver and communicate actionable research findings to his/her counterparts on time and with quality to defend and build consensus around his/her research and how it affects design. At the core, this position will transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful product launches through user research throughout different design phases. The UX Researcher must create a best in class user experience requirements, helping the product team transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful features and user experience.

- Bachelor’s degree in Design Research, Social Science, Behavioral Psychology, Interaction Design or a related field of study

- 2 years of industry experience conducting user research and effectively partnering with development teams to improve the user experience based on research results

- Ability to run an entire project independently

- High level of experience using varied user research techniques at various stages of the development process (e.g., lab usability studies, heuristic evaluations, surveys, field research / ethnographic techniques)

- Experience creating usability test plans and running large and small tests

- Experience gathering accurate measurement and precise reporting of usability data

- Experience in forming customer journeys, personas, service blueprints, workshop material

- Excellent collaborations skills, and experience teaming with designers to help prepare designs for testing

- Turning usability findings into actionable recommendations

- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to analyze research data, create results presentations, and deliver them to design and product teams

- Ability to learn and get familiar with new areas quickly

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Ability to keep up-to-date with UX trends and best practices

- Creative problem solving and design thinking
