User Interface Artist

As a User Interface Artist (m/f), you will be responsible for the design & creation of new UI screens, dialogs and HUD. Your role will be focused on developing optimal layout designs that are both functionally engaging and visually dynamic. You will work closely with Game Design in visually interpreting feature requirements and UX, whilst also coordinating with development to ensure correct technical implementation. The ideal candidate would be someone with excellent graphic design skills and previous UI experience. However we would additionally like someone capable of providing additional art support in other areas, so a broad skill set would be beneficial.

Your Job:

• Conceptualize and create design layouts and assets to support the construction of interface screens and dialogs
• Understand Game Design requirements and interpret as visually dynamic user interface layouts with a clear usability and consistent style
• Maintain user interface asset libraries, adhere to technical guidelines and look to optimise and improve workflows on a continual basis
• Collaborate closely with the Art Director and art leads in maintaining art style consistency and support development of asset libraries and guidelines
• Work in close collaboration with Code to ensure correct and efficient implementation of new interface screens and dialogs
• Be proactive with problem solving and take responsibility for self managing tasks to meet production deadlines
• Work with a flexible mindset in order to support both online and mobile game platforms

Your Profile:

• Strong knowledge and skills in graphic design, typography and interactive media design, with an exceptional portfolio demonstrating a range of UI/ graphic layout styles
• A strong eye for effective visual communication and a keen awareness of UX/ usability in designing user interfaces
• At least two years experience working in computer games as a UI Artist, preferably with examples from multiple games
• Strong 2D illustration skills are highly beneficial since the role will require the creation of stylised assets
• Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop are a must, along with experience in using Adobe Flash and After Effects
• Experience with other art creation tools such as 3D programs, or game engines would also be beneficial
• Self organised, proactive and highly organised, with a keen eye for detail
• Completed training or degree in a visual arts field or graphic design highly beneficial
• Good written and spoken English
