Description

We are looking for highly skilled UX Designers to join our team. As a UX Designer you will be working directly with customers to both advise on, and create best practice digital User Experiences for Banking. You’ll be a critical member of the team, working in a close-knit team of Product, Technical and Delivery leads to influence best-practice implementation of the Backbase Product.


As a successful candidate, you have five or more years’ experience in Service/UX/UI design for mobile applications and web. You are a great communicator, and even better listener; with the ability to bridge the challenges for users, product, technology and business. You are passionate about best-practice design methodologies and technologies, and you have a strong online portfolio demonstrating your work.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our customers to design end-to-end user experiences based on the Backbase product portfolio, utilizing best-practice user journeys to create intuitive design
  • Facilitate workshops
  • Conduct usability tests
  • Create UX strategies
  • Wires and designs for complex web applications
  • Lead Backbase teams with the best solutions to develop

Requirements

  • 5+ commercial experience delivering UI Design and Build in financial services
  • Experience as a designer working in an Agile team environment throughout lifecycle
  • Must have skills:
    • UX Design Workshop Facilitation
    • Experience working with complex information and interactions (Forms, Data, & Workflows)
    • Experience with and strong understanding of:
      • Visual design
      • Interactive deign fundamentals
    • Experience and deep knowledge of design tools:
      • Design tools (e.g. Sketch)
      • Prototyping tools (e.g. Invision)
    • Experience with user acceptance testing and user group research
    • Experience delivering in an agile SDLC across the full lifecycle
    • Strong collaboration skills and teamwork experience
    • Design best practices and methodologies
    • Good understanding of HTML & CSS
  • Self-directed learner & problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Have a substantial design portfolio available online


Considered an Asset:

  • Bachelor’s Degree In Computer Science/Engineering
  • Previous Backbase experience is not required however it is a nice to have


Successful candidates will be entered into a 4-week on-boarding program; 2 weeks classroom and online Backbase training, and 2 weeks on the job project shadowing.
