Lead Product Designer

About us
Our mission is to redefine the multi-trillion dollar logistics industry - transforming it to address the pressing needs of the 21st century. Supply chain accounts for ~10% of Global GDP and is one of the largest barriers to addressing major global challenges like sustainability, air pollution and food waste. By changing how organizations work together across the global supply chain, we will play a critical role in tackling these challenges head on and unblocking human advancement. We are a team of serial entrepreneurs with extensive backgrounds building world class product, engineering, operations, sales & marketing teams. We know what it takes to go from zero-to-one AND what it takes to achieve scale and transform markets.

About the role
We’re looking for a talented generalist with a gift for UI/UX design to work directly with our Head of Product to build and evolve ISO’s initial product offering. ISO is a web-based collaborative workflow tool, that helps shippers work more efficiently with their partners across the supply chain. You will be responsible for helping define the product vision, design processes and culture for years to come. This is an opportunity to have huge impact on both an early stage product/company and one of the most important industries in the world. As the first design hire, you will report directly to our Head of Product and may eventually lead a team of design peers if this aligns with your skills and interest.

What you’ll do:
- Work hand-in-hand with our Head of Product to understand the needs of our customers and develop thoughtful solutions that can scale across the industry
- Proactively develop UI/UX prototypes based on user research and subsequent thesis generation
- Lead user research/testing and translate insights into designs that creatively solve for our users biggest challenges
- Identify metrics and other methods of feedback that inform future product iterations, helping to optimize in some places and expand in others, as necessary to meet the needs of our end-users
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and business teams on strategy, from definition to execution
- Demonstrate autonomy, adaptability & high EQ as you tame the ambiguity and volatility inherent in early-stage startups

What you have:
- 4-7 years of user-centered design experience, including a portfolio of product work; bonus points for experience relevant to logistics
- Experience designing complex web and desktop software for enterprise or consumer applications; bonus points for early-stage experience
- High proficiency using design tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, or Keynote
- Knack for creating interactive prototypes using tools comparable to Framer, Principle, Origami, Invision Studio, or Proto.io
- Comfort leading user experience testing with customers and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
- An appetite for interdisciplinary collaboration and experience working with fast-paced, emerging product teams

Who you are:
- A collaborator; we’re passionate about teams being more than the sum of their parts
- A truth-seeker; you hold strong opinions loosely and always maintain a healthy skepticism
- A builder; you recognize that in many situations done is better than perfect
- A craftsman/woman; our work is our art, and the world needs more beauty in it
