AppOnboard is seeking an experienced and talented UX designer to join our team. You're a well rounded designer who is able to design engaging UI, but at your core, you're gifted at identifying unique user needs and insights. Working closely with the Design, Product, and Data teams, you will help craft and carry out research that uncovers insights and opportunities for product development from a user first POV. You bring strong written and verbal communication skills and can take ownership of projects from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to produce deliverables for each step of the product development process from design exploration to user research examples, to final UI design, including task outlines, workflow diagrams, wireframes, interaction mockups, and high-fidelity visuals
- Lead the effort to understand and empathize with our users through ongoing, frequent, strategic, and significant research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods (surveys, interviews, usability studies, ethnographic observation, or a new method you invent)
- Deliver personas, a UX vision, and develop our research strategy, working closely with design leadership to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, expansive, and well-informed
- Influence the business and product strategy while being a strong and committed advocate for user-centered design
- Collaborate and communicate in a way that amplifies the voice of our users, and influence product strategy and design
- Advocate research findings to designers and product teams through written reports and presentations
- Test design solutions to ensure we’re solving top user needs as we evolve our products
- Perform market, competitor, and customer research to identify and capitalize on industry trends and new technology
- Maintain, innovate upon, and surpass industry best practices for UX and product design methods, trends, and processes
Required Skills
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of UX design/research experience, familiarity with various methodologies, and experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
- Hands on UI design experience
- Fluency with design tools for exploring, prototyping, testing, and producing user experiences
- Proactive, organized, and able to balance multiple projects and their own initiatives
- Ability to think big and interpret complex user and design problems
- A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with others
- A professional portfolio demonstrating a strong background in interaction, UI, and visual design (Portfolio required for consideration)
- Bachelors’ Degree in a design related discipline. Master’s a plus.
