User Interface and Visual Designer
About the Role
We build data tools for roboticists, perception engineers, and people building autonomous systems. They are our customers, and everything we do is about making their work easier. That's our focus.
We're looking for someone with well-rounded experience in both user interface and visual design who is enthusiastic not just to define the look and feel of our product, but also that of our company.
We're a small team, so you'll have the opportunity to do everything from working directly with our customers to learn how they use our products to improving their user experience and visually conveying how we can make their jobs easier on our website and in collateral.
You will be reinventing the way roboticists and engineers interact with their systems, just as that market is set to grow exponentially. It will push you to learn far more than just another job working on ad, marketing, or sales tech.
There will be unique challenges around data visualization, user interaction, and keeping your designs flexible enough to support a wide range of autonomous systems that can differ greatly in behavior and types of sensor data.
You will be joining early enough to see our products and branding built from the ground up. As the company expands, you will be the expert in what design decisions were made and the reasoning behind them. If you are interested in leading a full team of your own, that opportunity will be available as we grow.
Optional Remote Role
Half of our current team is located outside of the Bay Area, and we strive to have a company culture that is inclusive, cooperative, and communicative enough to make remote work successful. We are open to this being a remote position if you are located within a 2-hour flight of San Francisco (i.e. on the West Coast), are able to spend at least one full week out of each month in San Francisco and have at least one year of experience working remotely and can provide a reference that it was successful.
