About the Team
In terms of marketing jackpots, we feel pretty lucky. Our team gets to bring solutions to both homeowners and service providers, which means every day we're putting our skills to use to take on projects that span across business-to-consumer and business-to-business. Some of us are content creators, some of us are designers and brand managers, some of us are social savants and marketing automation experts. All of us are storytellers, passionate about understanding our end-user, all of us are builders - helping to create brands and solutions that are loved, and all of us are team players.  

Internships will be remote for summer 2021 (you can work from anywhere in the US, so long as you keep Central Time business hours), but any subsequent full-time offers would be made in Chicago.

The marketing team gets to:

    • Bring the HomeX brand (and its family of brands) to life through integrated programs across traditional and digital channels and best-in-class design
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, executive stakeholders, and additional teams across the organization to bring our products and services to life
    • Dive into understanding our different audiences and how to best connect with them, with a goal of making their interactions with HomeX delightful
    • Establish and launch programs that grow awareness and demand for HomeX’s solutions
    • Bring solutions to homeowners and service providers that make their lives easier and home management simpler

Components of HomeX Summer Internship Program

    • Can tackle an ownable, real-world project and present key findings to the HomeX Marketing team
    • Participate in Marketing team meetings - share ideas and help brainstorm solutions
    • Participate in regular employee orientation, with introductions to each of our business units and key functions
    • Weekly lunch ‘n learn with deep dives into the inner workings of specific projects and teams, from sales operations to content strategy and more
    • Fireside chats with the CEO and the President
    • Dedicated mentorship from a senior team member, in addition to your direct manager
    • End-of-summer capstone presentation, where you get to show off your project to folks across the company
    • Inclusion in all HomeX employee events, including (virtual) socials and monthly All Hands presentations

Key Qualifications:

    • Ability to complete 10 or 12-week summer internship -- assume internships will be remote in the US, with the option to work from our Chicago office pending reopening date
    • Positive attitude
    • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Marketing, Journalism, IT, Business, Design, Analytics, Psychology, or UX/UI program
    • A passion for the HomeX mission

    • Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship/relocation)
    • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Marketing, Journalism, IT, Business, Design, Analytics, Psychology, or UX/UI program

Note: All HomeX offices are currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. As of Feb 2021, we plan to reopen offices some time in Q3 and will expect most employees to work onsite ~3 days per week.
