Description

Paradigm is looking for a Sr. UX Lead/Design Researcher to join an agile R&D design team working closely with developers on new software and technology solutions within an incubation and pilots lab. This is a well established and supported team with a startup mentality who explore, develop, and validate future product development. In this role, you will provide whole solution UX strategy and input to the overall product design team. You will also research and explore industry trends on immersive print products, machine learning and augmented reality experiences, and the tools to build them.

The ideal candidate is a forward thinker and passionate about AR/VR, customer research, and user centered product development.

Type: On-site, 40 hrs/wk, long-term contract

Location: San Diego, CA

In this role, you will:

  • Clearly convey design concepts through wire-frames, flows, storyboards, and mock-ups to support cross-disciplinary team collaboration to develop solutions
  • Lead design and user research strategy across multiple channels
  • Research and evaluate emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research in a Lean UX environment
  • Identify and mitigate UX risks on projects
  • Create engaging, compelling, and well-structured presentations on recommendations, backed-up by evidence and data
  • Understand and embrace working as part of a team
  • Facilitate user experience design collaborations with individuals and teams from other disciplines
  • Mentor less experienced team members and support their growth.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in the study of design including one of the following: Design, Information Architecture, Cognitive or Behavioral Psychology, Human Factors or equivalent project/portfolio experience
  • Ability to take on substantial projects while utilizing new technology and solutions
  • Experience creating or prototyping immersive AR/VR experiences
  • Thorough knowledge of key channels and platforms, with experience in mobile, web and native solution design
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile / Lean UX methodologies
  • Able to work on projects alone, as well as collaborate effectively with other team members, to advance project goals
  • Able to plan data-driven design experiments and conduct tests to discover the right user experience, iteratively
  • Able to multitask across multiple projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience providing oversight of a large product or program, or simultaneously coordinating multiple smaller initiatives and teams, including teams led by more junior leaders
