Principal UI Designer

The opportunity
We are looking for a Principal UI Designer as we build out our new Design System team. You will work with Product, Engineering and the full Design team to define and establish a design language to be used across the organisation. Your work will be central to product teams designing market leading applications, with consistent user experience and branding, at scale.
We are looking for someone who is both an expert in visual design and is motivated to be an important part of a significant undertaking from the very beginning.
This position is for a full-time, permanent contract with the possibility to work remotely in Italy.
What you’ll be doing
-Creating the Design System language to be used by multiple product teams across multiple platforms
-Working with the Product Design teams to create best-in-class reusable components and patterns
-Collaborating with Engineering on implementation of the Design System, such as using Design Tokens
-Working with Brand to define UI guidelines
-Working with Product and Design leadership to establish a governance model and promote design excellence across all products
-Defining and facilitating knowledge sharing processes to improve collaboration
-Helping establish an inclusive, collaborative, and creative team culture
-Provide UI design leadership, support and direction to the Product Design teams
What we are looking for
-Considerable experience designing complex products
-Significant experience using and creating an enterprise design system for multiple products
-10+ years experience in UI design
-Experience working collaboratively with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers
-Expertise in Figma or Sketch
-Very good level of spoken and written English
Useful experience you may have
-Good understanding of UCD
-Data visualisation & iconography
-Working as part of a team split across multiple locations
-Working in Agile methodologies

A portfolio demonstrating your UI design work, and your process and experience in creating an enterprise Design System used by multiple products is required
