About us

IE, the Innovation and Experience company is a full service digital consultancy that partners with corporate teams to develop and deliver new ideas to market, fast.  Headquartered in Melbourne but with teams in Sydney and New York, IE employs 90+ people (plus a few furry friends) working in cross functional teams to innovate and deliver outcomes powered by design thinking and agile delivery.

We are a flexible business that trusts our team members to deliver work in the best possible way to get the best client outcomes. We are committed to a work environment that is curious,  innovative, diverse, thoughtful and gives our team members every opportunity to grow. This means autonomy in your work (with a supportive team around you) and the ability to structure your work day in a way that suits your life needs - as long as the client’s needs remain paramount.

About the opportunity

This is the ultimate opportunity for an experienced designer to join a business where creativity, curiosity, experimentation and progressive thinking are core to the way in which we work.

You will be a part of a Customer Experience team of 20+ working within a cross-functional tribe predominantly out of our Richmond offices, but with time spent at client sites across Melbourne CBD.

The core of your role will focus on research, useability, rapid prototyping and interaction design for sophisticated client accounts. You will love leading engagements through workshop facilitation and team membership. You will also be adept at understanding client needs and being able to convert these into opportunities for IE as a business.

We will consider full-time, part-time and other flexibility arrangements for this role - just tell us what you need.

About you

You will be passionate about your craft and be able to demonstrate a deep & broad understanding, and innovative view of holistic UX design. You will need to be able to demonstrate your experience in leading engagements and building meaningful client relationships.  We will be interested to see your work via some recent examples to understand your views and ability level with UX techniques and tools.

Why us?

You will have the opportunity to  work for a truly human-centred company in everything that we do. We practice what we preach to clients, within our own business. As part of your interview, you can expect to answer questions about your purpose in your working life, where you see yourself going in the next few years, and how IE can help you achieve this.

More broadly, IE genuinely cares about our team members and their interests. It’s an environment where you can thrive and grow. We focus on the whole person with a range of perks like:

  • Flexible and remote working
  • Plentiful L&D opportunities - conferences, meetups, subscriptions, public speaking, hackathons, courses, lunch and learns, agile accreditations, university support, study leave, you name it.

  • An active social committee - for the family person, the gaming person, the social person
  • Health & wellbeing stuff - like yoga!
  • Typical agency stuff like - games,  pool, sports teams & table tennis
