Product Designer

Nextail Labs

Nextail Lab is a smart platform for retail merchandising backed by leading venture capital firms. Developed by retail experts, it delivers agile data-driven decisions to meet increasing consumer demands.

We are a group of professionals focused on supporting retailers in transitioning to the agile retail paradigm. Our algorithms are built based upon the latest research in fast fashion operations and can be extended to other verticals. We are looking to add a Product Designer who's passionate about innovation to help us continue building one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies in Europe. The new team member will be instrumental in scaling Nextail’s product and roadmap, in order to drive the exponential growth ahead of us.

The role requires a love for product strategy, technology, user experience, and visual design, along with a clear drive for impact and an understanding of the retail sector.

As a Nextail Product Designer, these will be your responsibilities:

  • Create, refine, implement, and communicate design vision and strategy across the organization.

  • Champion empathy for Nextail users and customers. You will let their needs guide us to the best solutions and connect them to our product strategy and product roadmap.

  • Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers in an agile, iterative environment, from discovery to delivery, to deliver innovative design experiences to our customers at each stage of their journey.

  • Ensure the delivery of a consistent user experience across the product, safeguarding the evolution and maintenance of the product design.

  • Take ownership of your work and responsibility from inception through execution, for every detail, every step of the way.

  • Effectively communicate and evangelize design thinking and product culture throughout the organization.

  • Collaborate with other designers and product managers to evolve and flourish both our products and the organization.

We offer

  • A highly innovative and fast-paced environment. As in any startup, expect to find a team with an interesting mix of business profiles, IT geeks, data scientists, and as a fashion tech startup, a few fashion victims.

  • The satisfaction of building a top team and contributing to the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence & machine learning technologies that will build the next generation of enterprise software.

  • The opportunity to work with international people from diverse backgrounds with extensive experience in technology, retail, consulting and entrepreneurship.

  • Flexibility in remote work and office hours, use of some of the most advanced collaborative tools.

  • Periodic company get-togethers to meet the rest of the team.

  • Flexible compensation plan that includes a fixed + variable salary as well as company equity as we progress towards our Series B fundraising rounds.

You bring

  • More than 5 years of design experience. You’ve designed several products using emerging technologies for web, mobile, and other devices.

  • Lean UX and Design Thinking principles run through your veins.

  • You envision and craft elegant but practical solutions. You focus on impact and generating value.

  • You have a broad range of skills that allow you to create holistic user experiences, with strength in information architecture, interaction design, visual product design and, very importantly, information design and data visualization.

  • You have proven experience leading research, developing deep insights, rapid prototyping, and user testing. HTML prototyping is a plus.

  • You constantly sharpen your design instinct by quantitative research, customer feedback and contextual interviews. You are able to formulate hypothesis and design experiments to validate them.

  • You’re energized by hands-on work—sketching concepts, defining flows, building prototypes, and polishing final designs.

  • You're self-directed and know when to embrace ambiguity.

  • You’re proactive, creative, adaptable, and collaborative.

  • Understanding of retail dynamics and exposure to fashion retail is a plus.

  • Fluent in English—you will use it daily.
