What is Vertoe?

Vertoe is America’s first and largest on-demand short term storage provider with 300+ locations across all major cities in the US. We operate as a marketplace where we connect anyone looking for short term storage (a few hours or days) to local shops and businesses that have space. We are a young seed funded ($1.8M) startup that’s growing quickly and graduated from the winter 2018 program of world’s #2 ranked startup accelerator, Techstars in NYC (one of 11 selected startups out of 1600+ who applied)! Our team consists of folks who have worked at Google, Microsoft, Lindt, MetLife, AIG and Penguin Random House in the past

Our Requirements:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and result oriented person who is a hustler and ready to work in a fast-paced startup environment. Our ideal candidate has the capability to spearhead all our UX design and graphic design efforts for the team (note - bulk of the work is UX with occasional graphic design work). We expect this person to have the potential to grow into a senior role as the company grows and lead large teams.

Primary Responsibilities

- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and then lead UX design process to ship world class UX by working closely with product and engineering.
- Develop Vertoe’s processes around design including but not limited to creating and maintaing a gold standard style guide and central respository of all design assets.
- Work with marketing teams to deliver graphic design work on need basis.
Keep tap on user needs by frequently researching paint points to develop great UX.

Preferred Qualifications

- 4 years of UX or graphic design experience
- Expert ability in Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
- Good knowledge of video editing tools like Adobe Premier is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail and design with strong creative instinct
- Great communication skills with cross-functional teams
- Experience of working with engineering teams hands-on
- Self-starter and proven ability to work in startup environments

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in any design or creative field or relevant professional experience.
- Good ability in Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop
- Exceptional attention to detail and design with strong creative instinct
- Great communication skills with cross-functional teams
