The Product Designer Role

Qlik’s design team is a global organization consisting of a mix of talents, including user research, usability research, UX design, and product design.  

As a Product/UX Designer in the Analytics Business Unit, you will be working to ensure that our users get to next-level insight and action from their data and making the consumption of those digestible and desirable. 

What makes this role interesting?  

• Driving product and UX design for our SaaS-based platform, supporting execution and delivery, and ensuring we build solutions users love to use.
• Engaging with Product Managers, customers, other designers, internal stakeholders, and product engineering to ensure all relevant inputs are included in the design and delivery.
• Creating user flows/journeys based on user interaction and research.
• Creating low-fidelity mock-ups for early prototyping, conceptualization, and ideation
• Creating high-fidelity designs for usability testing and implementation
• Providing advice, clarification, and guidance on the users’ needs to the engineering team during development.
• Bridging communication around the architecture (feasibility) and business values (viability) with the values (desirability) for the users.
• Analyze and understand product usage telemetry and feature usage metrics to champion data-driven design and development
• Be part of user research activities like user interviews, usability studies, workshops, etc.

Requirements and Skills:  

• Successful completion of a Bachelor’ Degree in a relevant program of study, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Previous experience working with a cloud-based Products and/or R&D organization
• Previous experience with enterprise SaaS platforms 
• Demonstrated an acute sense of problem-solving abilities through visual modeling
• Effectively being able to transform user needs to tangible solutions with low-fi mocks
• Create effective high-fi design prototypes
• Understanding of different users’ needs for creating and consuming analytics
• Ability to help build awareness of and importance of design excellence
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to empathize with the users, understand their pains and needs, and build their user journeys
• Excited about how data can transform companies and help users make better decisions
• Using influencing to change people around you
• Being brave, daring to challenge, and drive ideas
• Efficiently facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders
