About the role

Student Beans are recruiting for a brand new Senior UX Researcher to join our Product Design team. You’ll be responsible for a wider strategic initiative per quarter, with a key objective of enhancing the reputation, value and standing of the UX Research function. You will be co-creating and evangelising its processes, and providing timely insights that’ll drive the product roadmaps.

Responsibilities include:

• Evangelising and coaching on user research concepts, methods, tools and techniques to create great user outcomes.
• Share user insights with the wider business and externally in creative ways to increase trust in our products and promote the Product Design team.
• Planning and carrying out user research activities, including moderated and unmoderated research.
• Coordinate strategic user research initiatives that span product teams.
• Deliver actionable insights, Identify user needs and inform design decisions.
• Coach Product Managers, Marketers and Designers in how to undertake research projects and in how to create strategic deliverables (such as journey maps, storyboards, and personas).
• Evolve our UX Research processes, documentation, and repositories.
• Some light mentoring of our UX Researcher

Requirements

We’d love to have a chat if you have experience in the following:

• 5+ years in a product-focussed User Research (or related) role.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Experience integrating user research into product designs.
• Confident in knowing how and when to show user research insights.
• Strong ability in knowing how much detail to go into for different stakeholders.
• Can demonstrate experience of coaching others on research practices.
• Experience with modern UX platforms (such as UserZoom, UserTesting, Dovetail, Lookback).
• You need to be collaborative, analytical and empathetic
