Job Summary:

As a UX Designer, you’ll convert business and user requirements into practical visual and structural solutions. You’ll liaise with clients to extract requirements, utilize a mix of data and user feedback to generate useful insights and produce complete user journeys, wireframes, and interfaces ready to pass on to developers.


Who you are

  • You’ve got a proven track record in web-focused UX design. You’re familiar with tools like information architecture, mappings, user personas, journey maps, and wireframes.
  • You have experience conducting accessible and inclusive user research and user testing for visual designs and in the development of products and service.
  • You’re a team player, able to work well with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise. You understand the value of teamwork in creating the best user experiences.
  • You understand how businesses work and can set practical goals that fit within that framework.
  • You’re not only creative, but also confident about sharing your ideas and have the communication skills to back them up.
  • You’re self-driven and can take a project from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • You’ll report with measurement metrics focused on project and usability goals.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:

  • You’ll be working with engineers, designers, stakeholders and project managers. Your task is to turn business and user needs into practical, meaningful and engaging solutions that work within our tech limits.
  • You’ll be deciding on the UX strategy and which UX tools to use for each project.
  • You’ll be running workshops both to test out new ideas and to organize the information architecture of complex projects.
  • You’ll be collaborating with cross functional teams to support the project through its lifecycle, including user and stakeholder interviews, analytics, audits and benchmarking.
  • You will incorporate accessibility requirements into design documents and specifications.
  • You’ll use both hard data and casual conversations to create meaningful insights and create new concepts.
  • You’ll be creating journey maps, navigation designs, sitemaps, information architecture, wireframes, storyboards, interfaces.
  • You’ll take complex data and turn it into something people can understand easily, like maps and dashboards.
  • You’ll report with measurement metrics focused on project, as well as usability and accessibility goals.

Key Stakeholders:

Senior Director - Digital Channels, Director - Digital Platform, Technical Director – Digital Channels, Director eCommerce, and leads in CRM, Business Creative Units, etc.


Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in related field.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and disability inclusion
  • Proven track record in web-focused accessible UX design. You’re familiar with tools like information architecture, mappings, user personas, journey maps, and wireframes. You should share a link to your portfolio or a list of previous projects you worked on.

Desirable:

  • Academic experience in a related (or creative) field.
  • Experience working in large cross functional teams (20 or more people)
  • Knowledge of regulations related to digital accessibility (e.g., Section 508, ADA)


Competencies, Skills & Attributes:

Essential:

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence or other project management tools.
  • Experience with modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Invision etc.)

Desirable:

  • Passionate about gaming and familiarity with the gaming industry. Using this love for games to use the best UX practises.
  • Familiarity with Figma
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.

Square Enix is pleased to be an employer that offers flexibility within the workplace.

We have a hybrid working policy which allows employees to work from the comfort of their home, three days per week, and in our amazing Blackfriars office for the other two.

Or, if being in the Office is your preference, you can choose three days working from our office and two days working from home. The choice is yours!
