UI/UX lead designer

We are looking for a UI/UX designer to lead design at Feature.fm. The perfect candidate: you love to design beautiful digital products, and you love great independent music. You will be a key member of Feature.fm’s team, reporting directly to the CEO and President. You will also work alongside our product manager and engineers, contributing to the product vision and ensuring ever-greater usability through testing with customers (artists, managers, label reps). You will be based in our NYC HQ.

Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer
- Expertise in designing user-centered design experiences for multiple devices and platforms (web, mobile web, iOS, Android) and in understanding how to optimize for responsive or other flexible layouts
- Proven UI/UX design skills — from market research and ideation, to wire framing and prototyping using best-of-class design applications, to usability testing and iteration based on feedback
- Ability to deliver compelling, creative solutions to UI/UX issues and opportunities
- Good interpersonal skills, including interactions with team, customers and other stakeholders
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage your time effectively
- A strong portfolio of previous work demonstrating solid understanding of UX principles

Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers and other stakeholders in gathering information and defining requirements, working through design iterations, and documenting visual design specifications
- Integrating user-centered design with other development activities
- Assess and interpret client needs and end-user needs (e.g. business requirements, product roadmap, end-user research) to create an appropriate interaction design
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, tools and techniques in all areas of user experience and interaction design
- Illustrate design ideas using wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps and screen flows
- Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how the app and websites function and appear
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis
