Senior Product Designer

Integral

Description

Integral is looking for Product Designers!

Do you thrive at the intersection of design, technology and business? We’re looking for Product Designers to join our team of consultants passionate about creating innovative software in the automotive and IoT space that will delight customers and drive business outcomes in the future of product development. We value collaboration, and our designers work to understand and advocate for the user.

Our Product Designers generally have around 3+ years of Product Design experience across a wide range of digital experiences (web, mobile and embedded technology) and are comfortable with leading design from concept to delivery. They have a growth mindset, are comfortable working on cross-functional teams of Product Managers, Tech Leads and stakeholders, to identify problems and design solutions in a human-centered way. We deliver smart software, but even more we are trusted partners, and collaborative and supportive teammates who love working together.

Requirements

As a Senior Product Designer at Integral you may be asked to:

Practitioner

    • Drive design and research scope for projects in a lean and iterative way
    • Conduct and facilitate discovery and user research - generative, quantitative and qualitative - using surveys, usability testing, interviews and contextual inquiries
    • Synthesize user research findings into product requirements
    • Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, competitive analysis, user journeys, service blueprints, UX architecture, high fidelity mockups, and other assets to communicate design decisions based on user research, testing, analysis, and heuristics.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, users, and stakeholders to drive out requirements and enable frequent feedback loops about product decisions.
    • Work with PMs, Tech Lead, and Stakeholders to determine the appropriate level of fidelity to research and design given current state of the product and desired goals
    • Be an evangelist for human-centered design, ask for what you need to do your best work
    • Mentor junior designers

Consulting with Clients

    • Put clients in the driver's seat to make decisions based on our recommendations - where do we compromise quality in favor of speed? Where do we insist the changes have a high return for users? What assumptions are we making? What concepts are we deciding in between? What inspiration are we borrowing from?
    • Facilitate conversations for client feedback daily (early and often) while setting expectations (what are they reviewing, why, what do we need feedback on?)
    • Advocate for the time and space you need to do your best work, share risks, escalate & problem solve accordingly
    • Present UX research findings and Product Design decisions to clients

Grow the design practice and department

    • Work closely with the Director of Product and Director of Engineering to build a balanced department approach, advocating for the right tools, people, and processes to succeed
    • Educate team members and stakeholders on the value of design thinking and user-centered practices
    • Facilitate participatory and generative design workshops
    • Help grow our Product Design practice by supporting sales efforts
    • Improve documentation of our design practices

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • 1+ years of consulting experience
  • Experience with design thinking
  • Experience with UX research and discovery to generate and evaluate new ideas
  • Experience with translating user needs into interactive and testable wireframes and prototypes
  • Experience with applying design systems and branding to new and existing products
  • Experience with iterative Agile processes, Lean Product, and Lean UX
