Senior UX/UI Designer

TrueNorth

Full TimeUI/UX Design
Posted 1 year ago
In a nutshell, you are a seasoned designer who feels equally confident during both the planning stages of UX design, as well as defining and maintaining beautiful, unique design systems. You have the robust skill set and experience to be able to confidently see a project through from the initial design of the product to dev hand-off but are also able to take on a leadership role to guide more junior designers when needed.
Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our client's needs and help us grow our customer base.

Responsibilities:

    • Work in close collaboration with other UX/UI team members, while also being able to take on a leadership role when needed.
    • Maintain close communication with clients (primarily US based) to effectively present and justify design decisions, and manage project timelines, expectations, and requirements.
    • Deeply understand and balance the needs of the client, the end user, and our own business. And in turn, be able to feed those back into the design process.
    • Envision the big picture but still manage and keep track of all the details.
    • Thrive in an agile environment where many technical features are being designed simultaneously and priorities are shifting.
    • Successfully juggle multiple projects and still meet deadlines.
    • Take on a lead role in product design, including writing use cases, diagramming, and creating robust wireframes to communicate your ideas.
    • Work at all levels of UX, translating feature docs into wireframes, use case flows, interactive prototypes, and mockups.
    • Independently design new features from concept through high-fidelity, clickable prototypes.
    • Create products with highly functional, but also delightful UI.
    • Create and maintain unique visual design systems.
    • Conduct Primary and Secondary Research to impact the product design and direction through user findings and benchmark data.
    • Conduct user testing sessions to validate the proposal designs and provide user-centered solutions.

Requirements:

    • 7+ years of UX and UI design experience.
    • Demonstrated mastery of UI/UX, prototyping, visual design, and research synthesis. We’ll be looking for a strong portfolio of your past work that details your challenges, ideas, and impact.
    • Proficiency with common design tools such as Sketch, Adobe, Figma, and Invision. We’re open to others.
    • Mastery of modern web app design best practices.
    • Deeply empathetic about the user experience.
    • Self-starter and team player.
    • High motivation to teach, learn, and contribute to our team and process development.
    • Excellent time and priority management.
    • Superior communication skills. Clear internal communication is critical in this role.
    • Fluent in written and spoken English.
    • Experience designing for robust web and mobile applications.
    • Experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing.
    • Knowledge of how to conduct primary and secondary research to gather insights about users that will impact the design decisions and experience.
    • Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
    • Experience specifically using Figma.

Additional qualifications:

    • Knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript.
    • Experience designing Fintech solutions.
