What we're looking for
At Allata we prioritize experience over education for our Product Designer candidates. We're looking for individuals with a well-rounded understanding of the entire product design process. Research, defining the challenge-solution alignment, prototyping, UX design, UI design, graphic design, copywriting, and user testing are just some of the skills you leverage when crafting great experiences. The ideal candidate will have played this role for 5+ years and thrive in a highly collaborative environment of cross-functional team members.
 
What you'll be doing
Partnering with your teammates you will turn your qualitative and quantitative insights into valuable solutions that excel in both form and function for digital products and enterprise software. Your work will take place in a strategic environment that requires the ability to conceive, communicate, and execute a creative vision and will hone your existing design leadership skills.

Responsibilities

    • Provide design leadership to align a group around a shared vision and direction including workshop facilitation
    • Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research
    • Identify new product improvement opportunities
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create beautiful consumer experiences and products
    • Communicate with external partners such as developers, manufacturers, and suppliers
    • Create and maintain design guidelines/systems/standards
    • Ensure that design materials meet accessibility standards and are compliant with industry regulations
    • Identify opportunities for product or feature enhancements
    • Remain up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and consumer preferences
    • Iterate existing designs to meet industry or consumer needs
    • Present product design ideas to leadership and external partners and take direction whenever necessary

Requirements

    • 5+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer
    • Experience with Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Cloud, Miro/Mural, user testing platforms, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar
    • Intuitive experience identifying customer needs beyond the prominent features and functionality
    • A strong track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to conduct, interpret, and present qualitative and quantitative feedback and research
    • Exceptional communication skills for conveying and aligning a team around a vision
    • Strong problem-solving and delegation skills
    • Understanding of client objectives and execution of said objectives
    • A well-rounded product design portfolio with result-driven case studies
    • Excellent time and project management skills
    • Bonus – Systems thinking and service design skills
    • Bonus – Entrepreneurial mindset (curious, adaptable, enjoys creating shared value, embraces learning from failure, self-motivated)
