Why are we searching for you?
As our platform grows, we need a UX Design Intern to support our daily operations and help bring consistent, user-centered experiences to life. You’ll gain hands-on experience with our Lumina Design System, contribute to product discovery, and work closely with two designers, the product team, and engineers to shape meaningful features.
What are your three main goals?
Design System Support
- Help build, maintain, and scale our Lumina Design System
- Design and document reusable components
- Ensure consistency and usability across design files and product teams
User Research & Discovery
- Assist in conducting user research, usability testing, and surveys
- Help translate findings into actionable insights
- Support in documenting research outcomes
Design Execution
- Work on user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features
- Create interactive prototypes to communicate design solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during product discovery and delivery
How does your team look like?
You’ll be part of a small UX team: Laurens, Senior UX Designer, and Andrei, UX Designer, will be your day-to-day teammates. The UX team is part of the product team, consisting of product owners and SEO specialists, and is managed by Bianca, the UX manager. We work in a flat organization that enables fast decision-making and innovation.
Who you are?
- Not currently working on a graduation project - this internship is focused on hands-on experience, not suited for thesis work
- Based in the Netherlands and available to visit the office 2 times a week
- Enrolled in an HBO or WO programme in UX Design, Digital Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
- Available 5 days/week for a period of at least 5 months
- Proficiency working in English (spoken and written)
- Proactive, curious, and detail-oriented
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of tasks
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
Requirements
- Experience working with Figma
- A strong interest in design systems, component-based thinking, and scalable design
- A keen eye for detail and consistency in interface design
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a collaborative attitude
- Knowledge of qualitative research methods
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS) is a plus
