About Portrait

Portrait Analytics is an AI-powered research platform designed for professional investors to quickly surface insights, contextualize company information, and identify high-potential opportunities tailored to their strategies. Our mission is to empower investment professionals with tools that combine speed, depth, and clarity—redefining how modern financial research gets done.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Product/UX Designer to support our team 15-20 hours/week, with the possibility to expand into a full-time role. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing company and contribute directly to shaping the user experience of our product. As a fractional designer, you will lead and execute design initiatives across various projects working closely with our nimble product, engineering, and GTM teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the UX/UI of the research platform, ensuring a compelling and highly functional experience for investors looking to scale their process with LLM capabilities.

  • Collaborate with product & engineering teams to deliver user-friendly workflows and intuitive, adaptive interactions.

  • Translate requirements and user needs into wireframes, prototypes, and polished designs.

  • Maintain consistency with our design system and brand guidelines while introducing thoughtful improvements.

  • Contribute to both strategic product thinking and hands-on design execution.

  • Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analysis, and evolving business requirements.

  • Assist with brand design, including developing marketing videos and assets, and helping maintain and advance the Portrait brand.

Who You Are

  • Proven experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing web or SaaS product work, with an emphasis on clarity and usability.

  • Expertise in Figma design software and familiarity with modern component libraries/design systems.

  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and efficient problem-solving with design thinking.

  • Comfortable working independently in a fractional/contract setup while staying highly collaborative.

  • Preferred: Experience in AI-powered technologies, fintech, or investment research.
