Prosper

Who We Are

Prosper is built on a simple idea: connect people who want to borrow money with those that have money to invest. Through Prosper, borrowers get access to fixed and low-rate loans and investors in those loans can earn solid returns. Our mission is to help build financial well-being for our users. Since our launch in 2005 as the first peer-to-peer lending marketplace in the US, more than 1 million loans have been provided through the Prosper platform. We’ve helped people gain access to more than $17 billion in loans for everything from consolidating credit card debt, making home improvements, and even paying for costly medical expenses.

Backed by leading investors like Sequoia Capital, Francisco Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, and Credit Suisse NEXT Fund, our platform is developed and supported with pride in our downtown San Francisco and sunny Phoenix offices.

What We Need

We’re seeking a talented Senior User Experience Designer to help drive the next evolution of our web and native mobile experiences. You will play a key role in the development of new products and features, working closely with product and engineering to create experiences that are delightful, easy-to-use, and deliver on our mission to provide financial well-being for our users.

Are you someone who loves nurturing a design from rough concept to MVP to live iteration?

Do you thrive in a fast-paced, always-evolving environment?

Are you fascinated by the challenges of designing both truly responsive web experiences and deeply native mobile experiences?

Do you want to help lead efforts to learn from our users and incorporate those learnings into new features and products that you’ll design from scratch?

Then, let’s talk!

What You Will Do

    • Solve compelling problems while owning user experience design across all platforms – web, tablet, and mobile
    • Fearlessly deliver best-in-class designs that engineers are excited to build
    • Quickly develop, iterate, and maintain user flows, mockups, and specs
    • Develop light-weight prototypes, A/B tests, and other discovery tools
    • Lead user-centered research initiatives to help inform your vision
    • Work in close collaboration with a strong team of designers, developers, and product managers who want to make a difference…just like you.

What you will need to have

    • Bachelor’s degree in Design (HCI, Multimedia, Graphic Design, etc.) or equivalent industry experience
    • 5+ years of UX work experience
    • Ability to design at all stages of development while integrating ongoing user research, building from concept and rough sketches to prototypes to final user-facing product
    • Knowledge of Scrum Agile or other Agile/Lean methodologies
    • In-depth knowledge of the tools of the trade, including Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Suite
    • Experience in a startup or other fast-paced environment is a plus
User Experience Designer

You’ll get to participate in a mini-design day, working with people from Product, UX, and Engineering to solve a real design problem that impacts our business.
Be prepared to ask lots of questions, to think critically and to push the visual, product design & UX boundaries of existing functionality to evolve it with a new feature and improved user experience.
You’ll be provided with an onsite computer & Sketch file that contains all of the templates and assets for the functionality as it currently exists – let us know if you’d prefer to bring your own computer instead.

You’ll get to meet with a product manager, a designer, and an engineer (45 min each) to learn how we work together as a team and to discuss the goals of the new feature.  Please use this time to ask any questions you may have, including any questions about life at Prosper!

Next, you’ll have 2 hours to work on your design, after which you’ll meet with Stephanie Morgan (Head of UX & Design) to share your work and to go over any other questions you may have, as well.
