40grid is building the next generation of software for pest control companies. We’re a small, fast-moving team working closely with some of the largest operators in the industry to rethink how their businesses run end-to-end: from sales to scheduling to billing and beyond.

Our product is complex, operational, and deeply embedded in our customers’ day-to-day. We care about building software that is not just functional, but intuitive, reliable, and fast.

The role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to help us move faster, simplify complexity, and bring clarity to our product.

This is not only a UI role. We’re looking for someone who is product-minded, highly collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and leadership to take rough ideas and turn them into clear, shippable solutions — quickly.

What you’ll do

• Own design for key product areas from concept to delivery.

• Turn complex workflows into simple, usable experiences.

• Work closely with engineers to ship fast and iterate often.

• Contribute to and evolve our design system and UI consistency.

• Make pragmatic decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

• Communicate clearly and concisely — in designs, documentation, and async updates.

• Help reduce friction across product and engineering by bringing clarity and alignment.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in product design, ideally in B2B or operational tools.

• Strong product thinking — you know how to prioritize, simplify, and make tradeoffs.

• Ability to work through ambiguity and move projects forward independently.

• Clear communicator, especially in async environments.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineers and basic understanding of frontend constraints.

• Strong visual and interaction design skills with attention to detail and polish.

• Familiarity with design systems or design tokens.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Experience with complex domains (e.g. fintech, logistics, field service, internal tools).

• Based in the US and able to work East Coast hours. Comfortable starting earlier in the day (around 8am ET when needed).
