Workato

Workato is the operating system for today’s fast-moving business. As a high growth company with over 6000 customers, Workato is revolutionizing the integration and automation market with investments from the top 3 SaaS companies - Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow. Recognized as a leader by both Gartner and Forrester, it is the only AI-based platform that enables both business and IT to integrate their apps and automate workflows across their enterprise with robust security and governance. Workato’s Product Design team is looking for their first UX Writer- someone who can distill complex concepts into concise, humane, and easy to understand copy. You should be willing to rethink enterprise software and believe that enterprise users should have the same usability and clarity that we expect from consumer software.

Workato has a positive, diverse, and collaborative culture—we look for people who are curious, inventive, smart, hardworking and work to be a little better every day. Workato has also been recognized amongst the “Top 47 Enterprise Startups to Bet Your Career On in 2020” and the “Hottest 13 Productivity Software Startups to watch in 2020!” by Business Insider.

Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with other designers, product managers and UI engineers to design products that have low friction to adoption and are delightful to use

  • Distill complex concepts into clear, actionable in-product copy

  • Write user interface text that facilitates navigation, on-boarding, notifications, error messages, warnings, instructions, help content, form field labels and hints, and other components of the end-to-end user experience.

  • Define product and feature names

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers. Influence and adapt to stakeholders and their feedback.

  • Audit and assess the current state of content. Identify strengths, weaknesses, gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities.

  • Design and implement the specifics of a tone-of-voice for our in-product copy, and ensure cohesive product narratives.

  • Create content style-guides, writing best practices, train non-writer team members to follow guidelines, and establish governance workflows.

  • Proactively document all content design decisions

  • Establish metrics to measure content performance and quality

  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

  • Work independently in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, HCI, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of content strategy, UX writing, or content design experience

  • Native English speaker, or someone who can demonstrate a native level of English.

  • Experience owning and designing end-to-end product content experiences.

  • Experience translating complex product and business concepts into clear, concise, and engaging copy. Bonus points if you can infuse humour and empathy in your work.

  • Ability to embrace the highly technical nature of our products.

  • A portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines that were actually shipped. It should highlight before and after states, and showcase value added to the product.

  • Experience using data to measure impact and guide future strategies.

  • Past experience in influencing behavior and promoting change.
