Neo Financial is looking for a Director of UX & Design to lead a talented team of designers and researchers and work closely with our product, brand, and engineering leaders in setting our strategic direction. You will play a leading role in mentoring and expanding our design team practices and build our products to drive innovation in how Canadians experience banking.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive the design vision across our product suite with lead designers to deliver a world-class engaging user experience
- Act as a thought partner with lead designers as you elevate our product design practice, quality of experiences, and processes as they move from a concept to final product
- Play the lead role in building out processes to grow design and UX capabilities across Neo
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders across Neo to identify and execute on ways to elevate the user experience across all of our products and operations
- Create a collaborative environment by providing consistent feedback and acting as a facilitative leader
- Be innovative in your way of thinking and use your experience to expand the team’s knowledge
- An active mentor who implements structure by navigating their way through complex scenarios
Who we're looking for:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading teams and creating engaging user experiences
- Deep understanding of the design process and best practices, and proven ability to define and improve a team’s design practices
- Extensive experience collaborating with product leadership, engineering managers, and other teams
- Fluency in principles and techniques of information architecture, systems thinking, and user experience design and research
