Selina is hiring Product Designer

At Selina, we’re disrupting the antiquated mortgage and loans industry.

We are the first in the UK to offer a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC), a financing product unlike anything else out there, one that is as flexible as a current account, as affordable as a mortgage, and as easy to apply for as a consumer loan.

Since we were founded in 2018, we’ve grown to a team of 40 ambitious individuals, disrupting the finance industry, championing homeowners and launching a brand new product into the UK market.

We’re growing fast, and are looking for a Product Designer, our very first design hire, to drive the design and vision of our products. 

What you’ll do

• Get involved as our first design hire and own the design for our big projects from start to finish while helping us shape the future design direction of Selina

• Apply strategic thinking to design effective, engaging end to end experiences which balance user needs, business goals, and technological realities across platforms.

• Be responsible for all design artefacts produced; from initial discovery and user journey mapping through to wireframes and ultimately the execution of final UI design details.

• Work with internal teams to plan and execute user research to gather feedback and iterate on ideas while gaining a deep understanding of our customers

• Support brand alignment across all our internal and external communications, digital platforms and product marketing

• Design campaign assets and customer communications along with other design tasks as and when needed

• Previous experience leading the design of innovative digital products in a fast-growing company, ideally in a customer facing environment

• A portfolio of effective UX/UI design work which you can talk us through

• Ability to persuasively articulate why you designed something the way you did to your colleagues and senior management

• A good understanding of typography, imagery, layout, colour and how they can be used to tell a compelling story to our customers and create a great user experience

• A passion for thinking out of the box and solving customer problems using design tools and techniques.

• Ability to quickly adapt to a variety of different design problems as and when these arise

• You know Figma (or Sketch) and Adobe Creative Suite inside out, and can comfortably navigate through these tools in your sleep

• You are able to effectively manage your time, prioritise tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision (while also knowing when to ask for advice)
