UX Writer I – Product Experiences

Best Buy Canada is looking for an awesome UX Writer to join the Experience Design community.

Do you strongly dislike lorem ipsum, robotic 404 errors and the word ‘user’? Do you have a passion for making complicated things simpler? Then we’re looking for you.

As a UX Writer at Best Buy Canada, you will work on ways to enhance the experiences of internal and external customers through the Best Buy Canada website, emails, in-store interactions, and other touch points.

You will be working with highly skilled, like-minded individuals in crafting the right experiences for the right audiences.

We are truly Agile at scale, with a flat organizational structure and designers working with distinct streams, united within communities of practice.

Experience Design at Best Buy Canada drives the vision of the entire customer journey. We are a large and growing team of diverse specialists in UX, UI, Digital Design, Content Strategy, and UX Writing. The Experience Design community operates under the Director of Experience Design and enjoys strong executive support.

What you’ll be doing:

Content Writing - Writing content for our product teams including interface copy, navigational terminology, microcopy, and transactional emails

Content Design - Contributing to and helping maintain our interface content standards and guidelines

Content Strategy - Ensuring content is consistent throughout the user journeys

User Research and Evaluation - Shaping and evaluating the customer experience by crafting helpful, meaningful content

Collaborating with a cross-functional team of UX designers, UI Designers, developers, and product owners

Communicating design rationale for your copy decisions

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 1+ years of experience as a UX Writer, preferably with experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Expertise in writing copy that’s clear and concise
  • A strong understanding of user centred design principles and how copy fits
  • into the customer journey
  • Time management skills that allow you to juggle multiple projects and tricky
  • timelines
  • A strong understanding of grammar, style, and syntax
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile or Scrum environment
  • Highly collaborative mindset that allows you to build trust and accountability
  • Ability to embrace change with positivity and enthusiasm
