Senior UX Designer

Geomagical Labs is a specialized arm of IKEA's Ingka Group located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a visual AI research & development lab working to deliver magical applications that make it easy for consumers to capture and decorate photorealistic 3D representations of their home spaces, anywhere they are, using everyday smartphones.

We have an opening for a Senior UX Designer. This person will strategize, concept, plan, and deliver end-to-end user experiences and next-generation workflows that define our capture and virtual decoration experiences.

The ideal candidate will have a strong creative and design process, and a proven track-record of delivering consumer experiences that delight. We're looking for a good mix of product design and UX design experience; the ability to really think about UX across mobile and Web products, and work with an incredible design system (and teammates) to bring these ideas to life.

• 5+ years experience in UX or product design with a proven track record of success
• 3+ years experience designing consumer-facing products or services
• A design portfolio that showcases a strong mix of UX, UI and product design accomplishments
• Ability to translate complex design problems and user pain points into elegant product solutions
• Ability to think at a high level about product strategy but also act–with speed and precision–to deliver the tactical pieces to realize it.
• Think holistically about brand identity and understands design systems
• Quickly visualize and prototypes ideas to communicate concepts
• Convey design ideas via sketches, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and/or animations
• Ability to articulate the thinking and strategy behind design decisions
• Experience conducting user research, as well as running quick usability tests
• Great presentation skills with the ability to explain your creative vision and listen to feedback.
• Skilled in design software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop or similar design tools
• Friendly, supportive, and collaborative. A team player.
• BA/BFA with an emphasis on User-centered Design, Human Factors, or Web Design
• BONUS: Experience with 3D, AR, VR, motion design, or video editing
• BONUS: Knowledge of frontend web development: HTML/CSS/JavaScript
