UX/UI Designer

As a dynamic User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) Designer at The Training Room Online (TTRO), you will be part of our Product Development department, working with a cross-functional team to create cutting-edge user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) designs for digital learning environments. You will help design impactful, user-centred digital learning environments or applications that bring about business success for our clients, develop skilled citizens of the future and contribute to socio-economic reform in South Africa and beyond.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Design cutting-edge user-centric solutions for digital learning environments and apps
• Develop user-centric UX design deliverables using UX software such as InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Design cutting-edge, impactful andS appealing UI designs
• Translate client requirements into high level designs, low fidelity mock-ups, wireframes, story boards, and screen flows and interactive prototypes
• Develop user stories and journeys
• Design, conduct, and document usability testing
• Envision the bigger picture of digital learning solutions and support the development of technical, functional and design specifications thereof.
• Research and analyse market, the users and the roadmap for the product
• Consult around systems, architectures and functional scopes
• Develop bespoke user experience designs based on individual client requirements
• Work closely with the development team to implement the designed solution
• Take accountability for the solutions design and overall quality of the development of all software solutions assigned to you
• Think out of the box to innovate platforms beyond industry trends
• Competitively position the user experience through activities that improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of TTRO’s solutions
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Tertiary degree in a design-related field, or in IT, business, business analysis or similar
• 2-3 years’ experience in UX design, solutions architecture, business analysis, product management or similar
• Strong UI design capabilities
• Strong design portfolio including UX and UI design deliverables
• Comprehensive experience and proven skills in Adobe XD, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Good understanding of user-centred design practices and ideation tools
• Good understanding of responsive design principles
• Ability to relate to target users, in organising information, and in designing interactive experiences.
• Passionate about e-learning, innovation, technology and UI/UX design.
• Expertise in UX software such as InVision, Figma, Balsamiq, Axure, Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to think out of the box to innovate platforms beyond industry trends

• Good analytical and logical thinking
