Description

Countable combines engagement management, document management, and firm management in one centralised and integrated hub. We use automation to take the menial tasks out of accounting engagement work, allowing teams and their clients to collaborate, communicate and exchange feedback in real-time. Countable was built out of an urgent need for better, more nimble technology to help accountants keep up with the future. We’re transforming scattered systems into one simple, integrated platform.

About the role

We’re looking for a Lead Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our growing product development team, as we transform the accounting and audit industry. The successful candidate will essentially lead our team of UX and UI designers working on a range of complex features. On the other hand, this is still a hands-on role where you’ll participate in design activities such as gathering product requirements, doing research, user interviews, translating findings and insights into solutions, designing wireframes, building prototypes and conducting user testing sessions. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineering and quality analysis teams to influence the product strategy and roadmap, define project scopes and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities include:

  • Being a thought partner to product managers in the definition of project scopes and focusing on the right problems to solve.
  • Working closely with product managers, designers and engineers to execute the product vision.
  • Leading design projects from discovery to handing final high-fidelity design files to engineering and QA.
  • Making sure design team resources are efficiently used, priorities are well set, and tasks are progressing according to product development priorities and timelines.
  • Delegating tasks to design team members and overseeing work done, continuously providing feedback and organising effective and efficient collaboration.
  • Contributing to the planning of and conducting usability testing and QA.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills, team management experience, an understanding of the agile product development workflow, experience working in a cross-functional team, an ability to understand what motivates users, and strong design skills (proficiency in Figma is required).

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience designing web and mobile applications, preferably within a SaaS company
  • Hands-on experience in a leadership role, both in product design and managing team members.
  • An understanding of basic Lean UX and Agile project management principles, and the ability to prioritise work based on the greatest business impact
  • A strong appreciation for user-centred design
  • An ability to conduct research, user interviews and user testing
  • A conceptual understanding of web development technologies and development workflows
  • Proficiency in Figma, JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience working with and contributing to a design system
  • A team spirit, responsibility, dependability and punctuality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bonus points if you have:
  • Accounting and Audit experience
  • Experience working on a cloud infrastructure product

  • Extended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision)
  • Paid Time Off Benefits
  • Work From Home - Flexible hours
