The UI/UX Designer will be a part of the Technology team reporting to the Product Manager. They are responsible for helping us create usable and visually appealing products as well as carrying out user research to ensure those products solve real problems for our customers and stakeholders. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Own the design process from low fidelity wireframes to high fidelity, interactive mockups for select features
- Create design requirements for the software engineering team
- Carry out user research in the form of generative interviews, feature driven feedback sessions, and more
- Assist in and lead brainstorming sessions with the product and/or development teams
- Occasionally assist in the creation of other visual content for the explanation of new features
Requirements
Competencies ·
- Understanding of common UI patterns and best practices to use them
- Familiarity with Material UI and React
- Highly proficient in Figma or similar tool
- Background in user research and other qualitative methods for gathering feedback
- Ability to work on both new and mature products (should be able to help with suggesting improvements to existing UI as well as creating UI for entirely new products)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or something similar
- Startup experience strongly preferred
- Experience in oil and gas or related industry preferred but not required
