And Famly are...? Well it all began when our co-founder Henrik’s daughter was ready to start at daycare. He couldn’t believe the amount of work being done on paper - and how distant he felt from his first child during the day. The paper ‘parent’ books they exchanged once a month just weren’t cutting it. Together with his friend, our co-founder and CEO Anders, they set about solving that.

These days, the 165 of us building Famly talk about trying to do two things for our 4000+ customers:

• Giving children the best possible start to life.

• Championing the vital work that goes into making that happen.

We do it with software that brings hundreds of thousands of parents closer to their child’s day while they’re away from them. We also make financial, pedagogical, and planning tools for more than 34,000 childcare professionals, saving them hours and reducing their admin stress.

About you

We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our Foundation product team in our Copenhagen Office, who are working to define and maintain the standards of design across the Famly Platform. As the UX/UI designer in Foundation you’ll be pivotal in helping define the guidelines for how design is used in every product team. You will be working closely with the Product Manager and Senior Designer to align on design directions and then implement them in our design system as well as a number of high profile projects within Famly. From there you’ll be working closely with Front and Back End Developers to implement these designs.

The design team is quickly growing at Famly so this is an exciting time to join just as design systems are evolving. There is a Design Chapter where the designers come together to discuss the craft that you would be part of and contributing to. We are looking for designers who love finding opportunities for design to thrive and taking the initiative to get others involved.

What you'll be doing:

• You’ll be situated in the Copenhagen Office in a product team as the second designer working alongside a team of 3 developers, a Product Manager and an Engineering Manager.

• Go through the Famly Platform with a fine-tooth-comb to see how design is used currently and how we can make standardisations and improvements.

• Produce UX/UI design solutions in Figma for a range of big and small user challenges.

• Build our design system documentation for all of the designers and developers in Famly to use.

• Creating low and high fidelity prototyping

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have 1-2 years of experience in UX/UI or something similar.

• Love debating and defining the details in UI.

• Have always wanted to create a Product Design System and evangelise it within a company.

• Enjoy working in a team where you balance the Front-End and Design decisions.

• A passion for usability in the details.

• Want to learn more about User Research, presenting designs and creating insights.

And it’d be even better if:

• You have experiencing using and developing design systems.

• Have a passion for supporting early childhood care.

You'll be working with:

The Foundation Crew consists of 3 brilliant engineers as well as a highly skilled Product Manager and Engineering Manager. The work that the crew has done so far is at the core of what Famly offers today, and we want to invest even more in the crew in the future.

You will be reporting to the Product Manager of the Foundation crew - Leigh, who iis also the Design Team Lead and has a background in Design.
