UI/UX Designer

We are excited to be partnering with OutThink to support them in hiring for a UX / UI Designer.

OutThink is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join their exciting start-up, working within a high-performing agile engineering squad, and playing a key role in building and delivering OutThink’s ground-breaking SaaS (Software as a Service) Cybersecurity Human Risk Management Platform.

The platform provides innovative and just-in-time learning experiences, nudges, and simulations to hundreds of thousands of users worldwide via desktop and mobile devices. At the same time, the system monitors training responses, collects security system data and continually gathers feedback. All this data is collated and processed by our cloud engines in Azure, culminating in the provision of sophisticated predictive human risk management models. Our models can drive automated countermeasures, and present analysis results via the delivery of highly visual and interactive online dashboards.

The Role

You will have a design background with valuable UX knowledge gained from commercial experience. You will need to be a master at eliciting requirements from stakeholders, internal and external, and be able to design beautiful, elegant, and perfectly realisable user interfaces.

You should possess superior UI skills and be able to translate high-level business requirements into effective design artefacts such as task flows and wireframes, and further ensure that they can be transformed into intuitive and functional user interfaces.

You will need to communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to stakeholders and be able to realise complex data visualizations.

This is a predominantly remote role in a remote team where open feedback, new ways of working and thinking out of the box are encouraged and expected.

Responsibilities

• Investigating user experience design requirements for OutThink’s digital SaaS platform, in collaboration with Product Owners and other stakeholders.
• Translating complex business processes into intuitive and elegant use and product experiences.
• Working with teams internally to ensure the creation and delivery of beautiful and elegant experiences for users.
• Producing high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, process maps, flow diagrams, storyboards, and prototypes.
• Assisting in developing and evaluating user stories and usability studies.

What You’ll Need

• A solid appreciation of art, beauty, and a keen sense of aesthetics to drive design innovation.
• A positive and proactive attitude with strong initiative and team-working skills.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate in English in all forms.
• An understanding of the basics behind great software design.
• An eye for clean and artful design.
• Experience building data-centric web visualizations with an understanding of the limitations of web architecture design choices.
• 3+ years of solid commercial experience with UI design and prototyping tools, such as Sketch, Zeplin, Axure, Figma or Invision.
• Experience with Agile Development Methodology, working in short sprint cycles.
• Experience with Purpose-Driven Design processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and self-assured to present your work and represent the team at all levels.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new processes and concepts fast with a demonstrated sense of curiosity.
• Intrinsic drive and motivation to build a ‘world first’ and share our start-up vision.
