We've recently raised our $10M Series A round: this is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company backed by blue-chip investors.

We’re looking for a talented Senior UI/UX Designer to join Civic Eagle! You’ll be coming on board as a foundational member of the team to improve and grow the product’s design foundations at a stable and well-funded start-up with an exciting growth trajectory. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Product with the opportunity to grow into leadership as we grow.

This will be a career-defining and memorable experience for you if you:

  • Believe in our mission of improving democracy and increasing transparency
  • Want to grow your career rapidly within a high-growth startup environment
  • Thrive on problem-solving and coming up with solutions that scale

What you’ll do:

  • Design end-to-end workflows for high-quality implementation and intuitive user experiences
  • Improve and grow the product’s design foundations and work cross-functionally to establish a design system
  • Drive guidelines and best practices, approaching design from a user's perspective
  • Create detailed wireframes and design specs of intricate user flows, including early-stage concepts to facilitate discussion, feedback and alignment
  • Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fidelity sketches and prototypes
  • Drive vision for product language and content across the product
  • Conduct user interviews and research as necessary
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers around user requirements and technical specifications, and also with customer experience managers, researchers, marketing or other stakeholders as necessary

You will be a strong candidate for this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of design experience at a leading SaaS company, working on b2b products or complex tools  (i.e. internal tools, dashboards, etc.) over multiple release cycles
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience with end-to-end UX processes and workflows, measurably effective designs, creative problem solving, and dedication to understanding users’ needs
  • Expert skills in design and prototyping tools (i.e. Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience using, building, and maintaining intuitive and scalable design systems and design pattern libraries
  • Experience working closely with engineers to deliver browser-based software products
  • Working knowledge of React Native, Redux (frontend) and Node.js (backend) is a plus
  • Experience with evaluative research methods, including familiarity with product analytics tools (i.e. Amplitude)
  • Expertise in accessibility and usability standards
  • Are persistent about measuring, learning from, and adjusting work based on new information and learnings
  • Are an exceptional, cross-functional collaborator who demonstrates high empathy, curiosity, and understanding and can use design artifacts to effectively build alignment and communicate ideas
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment with multiple projects in progress
  • Are able to work within continental US timezones (PST, MST, CST, EST) and travel to US-based locations 4-6 times per year

Compensation

  • $112k to $150k depending on experience and location.

Benefits

  • Stock options
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family*
  • High-trust remote working environment
  • Flexible work hours - unlimited Your Time Off (YTO)
  • Paid family leave after 1 year with the company
  • Professional development stipend
  • Monthly remote work stipend
