  • JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position- W2 (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)
  • LOCATION: Remote - United States only (TimeZone: PST/CIST | Partial overlap)
  • HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $80 – $86/hr
  • ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Short term

THE OPPORTUNITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 5 years experience running qualitative user research studies and writing and analyzing survey data and turning both into actionable insights.
Bachelors or Masters in Psychology or Sociology or related field, or equivalent experience
Education and experience with survey writing and analysis preferred

Top 3 Non-Negotiable Skills:

Experience moderating user research sessions
Experience turning qual and quant data into actionable insights
Working with a diverse set of stakeholders

Nice to have/Preferred skills:

Video game user research experience
App development user research
VR user research experience
Passion for video games and/or VR is sought, but not required
Experience with analysis and data modeling in R or SPSS

Education Requirements/Background:

Bachelors is required, preferably in Psychology or Sociology, any degree plus user research experience (5+ years) will do too

5+ years of user experience research, both qual and quant, leaning towards qual

What is the interaction level this CW will have with the team/cross functional teams?:
Medium - High interaction level with XFN, especially external dev teams making apps for the Quest

Goals/Metrics – How will performance be measured?:
Primarily, being able to execute research on time and reports being clear and actionable

Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Scope:
UXR will interact directly with game/app-development teams, turning their needs and goals into research plans which will usually be usability tests/playtests, but sometimes surveys. For playtests, they will manage them wholly: writing the plan, working with recruiting to find the right participants, moderating the study, and synthesizing and presenting the findings. For surveys, they will also manage them from end to end: writing them, programming them in our client’s internal tools or Qualtrics, pulling potential respondents in SQL (or purchasing them from a vendor), and analyzing the data in R or SPSS (support for this will be available) and writing the report.

Good to have skills:
1 Write surveys
2 Leaning towards qual
3 Gaming would be fantastic
Working on Quest and VR (non games applications) – dedicated resource for content producers and internal recruiting
Running research reporting and delivering

Preliminary call- 25 minutes, then a 2 other researchers on the team,
BA/MA/Ph.D. AND experience with user research (3 to 5 years)- usability tests
1 year assignment
