The Role:

SnapLogic has built and developed a world-class product for our customers and are now taking our data and application connector solutions to the next level.  We are looking for a Principal UX Designer to join our team to design and drive improvements to our core integration creation product including it overall design, IA, interaction model, workflows, and automations. You will be responsible for driving the design of this product to the next level ensuring it remains the flagship product not only in our portfolio but across the industry. 

Reporting to the Global Head of Design, this role will be responsible for championing our customers’ needs so they can achieve amazing things with their data and application ecosystem.  This role is an individual contributor position but will lead the definition and set the vision for our Designer product. Your work will focus on integrating AI/Machine Learning with cutting edge user experience and visualization to create the next generation integration suit. 

To be considered for the role, you must share a portfolio of work demonstrating exceptional design sensibilities, including design leadership, a solid understanding of UX best practices for enterprise, and the ability to solve complex problems in concise intuitive ways. You should be comfortable leveraging your design skills to create good user experiences within technical constraints.

Please note,  this position is US 98% remote. We fully support people working remotely but there will be occasional trips (2-3 times a year) to our headquarters in San Mateo CA for planning sessions, training and team building, and there will be occasional trips to meet with customers on-site for discovery and co-creation work.

What You'll Do:

    • Lead Designer for our flagship product, overseeing its user experience/interaction
    • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define requirements and develop innovations
    • Participate in Customer Co-Innovation workshops
    • Use both customer data and UX best practices to drive design decisions
    • Develop a vision that is technically feasible but stretches engineering and provides clarity to product management on new business opportunities. 
    • Work proactively with engineer and product management to prioritize customer needs, validate assumptions and create workflows wireframes, screenshots, prototypes— whatever it takes, to ensure alignment
    • Quickly and thoughtfully incorporate feedback from customers, colleagues and leadership into your designs
    • Must be able to effectively handle risk, change and uncertainty, formulating responsible plans to resolve open questions
    • Working with UX research validate your designs through qualitative user research and/or A/B testing
    • Work to improve the overall user experience across products, proactively thinking through ROI, and market implications
    • Identify and propose strategies for addressing challenges that affect the product, its design, etc.
    • Communicating effectively, and gain buy-in from engineers, product management and leadership
    • Refine and expand our design principles, and our overall design language, setting the standards for aesthetics and expression
    • Inspire autonomy in others by helping them unblock themselves and providing them with tools and techniques to unblock themselves
    • Work with the other members of the design team to continually evolve and improve our product portfolio, as well as work to improve the knowledge and practices of the team overall

What We're Looking For:

    • 8+ years of experience designing web apps, ideally SaaS or other enterprise applications at the architectural level
    • Degree in HCI, Interaction Design, UX Design, or related field
    • Must be highly proficient in Figma, Jira, Confluence, MSFT
    • This role will be focused on Designer - the core pipeline creation app, so ideal candidates should have experience design developer tool, iPaaS, etc. 
    • Able to plan for the future while remaining grounded in the present
    • Deep intuitive understanding of standard UX/UI best practices
    • Experience working closely with engineers and product management
    • Experience designing software tools a strong plus
    • Have a high degree of autonomy and successfully deliver projects from conception to finished production-ready design files on time
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a fully remote team environment.
    • Excellent grasp of visual and interaction design trends
    • Confident in taking risks building toward long-term business objectives
    • Demonstrate the ability to make decisions and move forward while balancing tradeoffs between development, customer, and business needs
    • Demonstrates strong situational awareness, connecting adjacent and analogous patterns
    • Quickly identifies mistakes and makes appropriate course corrections
