Our Product Designers are user-centered individuals that contribute to the research, ideation, and design of our innovative Higher Ed products. Designers work as peers to product managers and developers, advocating for the user at every step. Anthology is looking for a Lead Product Designer to help drive design direction for their respective product or product area. This role requires a passion for and understanding of our users in our challenging, yet rewarding, B2B space.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading design direction for a product or product area
  • Leading and mentoring a team of designers working in a product or product area
  • Designing solutions and influence design direction for a product
  • Regularly collaborating directly with respective product and development colleagues
  • Staying informed on technologies used in product
  • Articulating designs and approaches to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Creating and utilizing appropriate artifacts when needed, such as personas, user journey maps, and analyses
  • Advocating for the user by valuing continuous discovery and fostering healthy relationships
  • Proactively seeking new opportunities for creative solutions to evolving product challenges
  • Embracing formative design, preferring a valuable, usable product over shiny assets

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Design or related field, or equivalent certification
  • At least 8 years designing modern digital products
  • Proven experience with leading initiatives, people, and/or design direction for large products or projects
  • Portfolio demonstrating broad experience in UX and product design
  • Proficient in design and prototyping tools
  • Experience with exploratory research and usability testing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional user interview and interaction skills
  • Thorough awareness of modern UI standards and best practices

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Strong systems thinking approach
  • Experience designing for both customer and users
  • Previous experience in the education industry and e-learning technologies
  • Background in user research that informs design exploration and solutions
