The domain we work in is complex and we need designers who can learn quickly and aren’t afraid to get stuck into technical challenges.

Joining our growing and experienced product team, you'll report to the Head of UX, helping to design and deliver high quality experiences for the people using our platform. You'll work closely with product managers to research and understand user needs, and work with the engineering teams themselves to ship projects that help address those needs. This role comes with plenty of room for growth and you’ll have ownership of design decisions in your work.

Working as a UX Designer at Gearset, you'll:

    • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to help deliver solutions on our platform that delight our customers
    • Share and seek feedback on your work as well as giving regular feedback to other designers on their work
    • Champion consistency & quality of experience, working with other designers & engineers to raise the bar for quality at Gearset

What we’re looking for:

    • You're enthusiastic about working with customers to build and deliver the right solution that empowers them
    • You can use Figma to create ideas for design work and are comfortable working with HTML & CSS to finesse the design details in code
    • Love designing simple, intuitive and delightful user interfaces & care about design details
    • Are pragmatic when it comes to design choices and make objective design decisions, always advocating for the best possible user experience
    • Enjoy working with a collaborative team of varied disciplines, including developers, designers, marketers and salespeople
    • Have experience shipping products and working in an agile software development environment

Nice to haves:

    • Experience working on technical applications or developer tools
    • Have experience of working with hosted (SaaS) products
    • Experience working in source control

Salary, benefits and hours:

    • Salary is £45k - £65k, depending on experience
    • You'll work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in our Cambridge office, with the option of flexible home working
    • Personal L&D budget of up to £1500 per year
    • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
    • Company Pension Plan (matching up to 5%)
    • Bupa health care
    • Life Insurance & Critical Illness cover
    • Flexible working hours
    • Free lunch in the office
    • Health and wellness benefits
