Overview
Join PLI and represent the legal community’s premier provider of continuing education and research services as an UI/UX Designer in our New York office. We’re looking for a UI/UX designer who is strong on UI and front-end visual HTML/CSS design, but with a good knowledge of UX as well. The ideal candidate will like the challenge of organizing complex information and presenting it in a clear, elegant fashion in your designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with iOS and Android stakeholders on business needs definition and iteratively edit a set of Figma files with an existing style guide for delivery to our full stack developers. And update the style guide as needed.

- Research and conceive of best design patterns for user and business needs; Proactively advise and collaborate in design iterations with product managers, business stakeholders and sometimes end users.
- Contribute to the digital product UX vision and strategy and communicate it to business stakeholders across departments to build consensus and convey the impact of design decisions on user, customer, and business outcomes.
- Design and deliver for quarterly enhancements user journeys/process flows and low and high-fidelity wireframes with explicit functional spec annotations that account for all exceptions for responsive web and mobile applications as needed.
- Factor ADA (accessibility) guidelines into your designs. We conform to WCAG AA 2.1.
- Estimate how long tasks will take and meet deadlines.
- Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines and manage your workload by communicating well in advance of a deadline so we can manage delivery expectations.
- Attend AGILE Scrum ceremonies like stand-up meetings and backlog grooming, and use JIRA and Confluence.
- Consult proactively with front-end developers so their work meets your UI/UX specifications. Perform visual UAT.
- Communicate daily in person, digitally in emails, video calls, shared documents, and Slack. Consistently be on Slack and available during working hours unless planned otherwise.
- Other duties, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A portfolio of responsive website designs and mobile apps that shows an advanced proficiency in Figma including wire frames, user journeys/process flows, site maps and design systems/style guides that were followed by a development team.
- Experience using Sketch, Zeplin, Figma (advanced), Slack, Adobe Illustrator.
- Stay current with the latest UX topics, techniques, and technologies.
- Front end coding is not required but a demonstrated working knowledge of HTML/CSS is required.
- Bachelor's or master’s degree, 3 or more years of experience.
- Bonuses are experience in Sketch, Storybook (or similar) front end code library connected to your design system, HTML/CSS, creating vector icons for a font set.

Compensation Range for this position
$110,000 - $120,000 per annum
(Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.)
