Product Designer 

Function: Product 

Reports to: Senior Director, Product Design 

 

Position Summary: 

 

As a product designer, this position will be responsible for creating new product designs that meet the needs and wants of consumers. This position is responsible for understanding fundamental usability and user centered design principals to guide software user interface development for various products with different specifications. Product Designers will be working closely with software engineers, graphics artists, and product managers for the OnBoard product.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with product and engineering to define, create, build, and release new features across our mobile and desktop touchpoints. 
  • Communicate your design concepts via mockups, flows, wireframes, and prototypes. 
  • Collaborate on product planning, prioritization, and product road mapping. 
  • Partner closely with our user research team and support ongoing research and user insights generation. 
  • Work on very broadly defined, loose concepts and sometimes narrowly defined, clear deliverables. 
  • Deliver well-documented flows to engineering. 
  • Develop and expand product design systems in collaboration with other designers. 
  • Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design team. 

 

Skills and Experience Needed: 

  • 3-5 years of product design experience.? 
  • Experience designing solutions for both desktop and mobile.? 
  • A demonstrated knowledge of effective UX patterns and best practices.? 
  • Experience in UX research methods.? 
  • Mastery of design tools (Sketch, Figma, prototyping tools, Abstract, Zeplin).? 
  • Ability to build and organize design artifacts (flows, journey maps, service blueprints, wires, mocks, prototypes, specs, related documentation).? 
  • Experience with design systems and product branding guidelines.? 
  • Experience working on a high-performing team, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and leaders.?
