About the role
As a UX/UI Designer at Tyro, you will be responsible for creating intuitive and engaging user interfaces and experiences for our digital products and services. Your expertise in understanding user needs, designing user-centric interfaces, and ensuring seamless interactions will contribute to the success of our company and enhance our clients' financial journey.
Your role will include conducting user research, create wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys along with generating production ready UI, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams ensuring that our products and services are useable, accessible, and align to business objectives and strategies.
You are passionate and pragmatic about the role design plays within the business, with experience creating solutions for both web and native platforms. You have experience with creating and maintaining design systems, and effectively implementing these within the design process.
What you'll do
- User Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research to gain a deep understanding of user behaviours, needs, and pain points in the financial domain
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and developers to gather requirements and align design goals with business objectives
- Analyse data and feedback to identify opportunities for improving user experience and interface design
- UI/UX Design:
- Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate the intended user flow and enhance usability
- Design intuitive user interfaces for our web and mobile applications, ensuring consistency across platforms
- Apply user-centered design principles to develop innovative solutions that align with industry best practices and brand guidelines
- Collaborate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and seamless implementation of designs
- Conduct usability testing to validate design choices and iterate on solutions based on user feedback
- Information Architecture:
- Define and optimise the information architecture of our digital products to ensure logical and efficient user journeys
- Organise complex financial information and data in a user-friendly manner, presenting it in a clear and accessible format
- Create navigation systems and sitemaps that support easy exploration and discovery of financial services and features
- Visual Design:
- Develop visually appealing and engaging user interfaces with a keen eye for typography, colour, and layout
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity visual designs and design systems that align with brand guidelines and improve usability. These will be utilised by the broader design team and developers
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align the UI design with brand identity and marketing campaigns
- Uphold and contribute to Tyro’s strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and business stakeholders, to drive successful project outcomes
- Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, advocating for user-centred design principles and explaining design decisions
- Clearly communicate design requirements and specifications to developers and assist in resolving any implementation issues
- Uphold and contribute to Tyro’s strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work
What you'll bring
- Minimum +5 years in similar role or equivalent as well as possess the below:
- Bachelor's degree in UX/UI design, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, usability, and interaction design
- Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and user testing methodologies
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on UI/UX design
- Familiarity with financial services, banking, or investment-related products and terminology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and articulate design concepts effectively
