Our technology is enabling agriculture customers to monitor crop health; energy customers to monitor oil pipelines and solar farms; and global banks to monitor infrastructure development, among hundreds of other unique use cases. All from space, with just a few lines of code.

After securing our $10M CAD Series A round in January 2020, and a $21M CAD Series B in June of 2021, SkyWatch is on the pathway to scale. Our Products

Every day, hundreds of trillions of pixels of our planet are captured from space. With new applications for this data emerging, such as precision farming, construction planning, disaster relief operations, and retail revenue prediction (to name a few), the demand for satellite imagery is growing. However, the current process for obtaining satellite imagery is very time-consuming and tedious.

Today, satellite imagery is expensive and difficult for customers to access and manage. SkyWatch addresses these challenges through a multi-product strategy focused on both the supply and demand sides of the ecosystem.

• EarthCache, an easy-to-use user interface for finding, ordering, viewing, and downloading earth observation data, allowing anyone in the world to access and utilize satellite and other imagery
• TerraStream, a data infrastructure SaaS product that provides satellite operators with an integrated data storage, cataloging, ordering, processing, and delivery solution, allowing them to serve customers faster, with less operational and financial risk

About the Role

This is an unpaid, work placement opportunity for a self starter interested in gathering experience to add to their portfolio. For this limited term project (70 hours), we would invite a co-op to propose a redesign of the EarthCache ordering interface, new functionality in our new EarthCache viewing tool, or the EarthCache - TerraStream connection. There are several components to consider as this is a 5 year old platform and we are looking for a new perspective. These design proposals have the opportunity to completely change the way we sell satellite data and reach thousands of customers.  

About You

• You are experienced in developing an end-to-end UX process
• You have empathy for software developers, product managers, satellite operators, and other users/buyers of our products.
• You have an ability to both provide and receive design criticism constructively and appreciation for its importance within the design process
• You have interest in industry-leading design and prototyping software
• You have the motivation to be the best in your field
• You put the customer first, and will do whatever it takes to deliver an extraordinary customer experience
• You’re an expert collaborator and can support and influence cross-departmental teammates to generate customer solutions 
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset and feel a sense of ownership with respect to the SkyWatch customer experience
• You have immense empathy for customers which drives results in supporting customers as they build products using the EarthCache system
• You recognize patterns in how products are utilized by customers, and are able to identify where similarities exist 
• You are proficient with internal systems such as Salesforce, the G-suite of products etc. 
• You possess excellent written skills allowing you to communicate succinctly and proficiently to various internal stakeholders. 
• You are an independent worker with strong time management and organizational skills.

• You have experience working with remote sensing data and associated softwares (ArcGIS, QGIS etc..)
• You have experience collaborating with other engineering, sales, marketing, and front-end developers to deliver high-quality user experiences
