Description
Inbox Health is looking for a Product Design lead who is passionate about creating highly functional and beautiful B2B SaaS web applications. You’ll be a vital member of our product and design team, focused on building products to improve the Healthcare experience for patients and billers. The role will work alongside designers, product managers, and engineers, and interface directly with users to get insights on how to drive our product design forward. Design is at the forefront of our product development process. As a Design Systems Designer, you will help streamline the process of design by providing necessary components to designers and engineers to enhance the internal process.
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this position will primarily work with the application team at Inbox Health. This team is responsible for our client-side initiatives, including our billing company web application, healthcare provider web application, and consumer-facing web applications. Each of these three applications works in tandem to help billing companies better communicate with patients and the practices that serve them. In doing so, we strive to create less administrative waste, improve the patient experience, and make the payment experience more transparent and affordable for patients.
Requirements
- Take charge of the entire design process, from the initial stage of understanding users to the final stage of producing a high-fidelity prototype
- Develop and integrate business goals into design and product decisions
- Inform and plan the product’s roadmap 6–12 months into the future
- Collaborate closely with development and marketing teams to ensure that designs can be successfully implemented.
- Have sufficient understanding of broad topics in UX, such as information architecture, psychology, emotional design, interaction design and visual design
- Conduct user research through interviews, observations and other research methods
- Analyze and identify pain points from the users’ perspective, based on your user research
- Generate ideas through ideation techniques such as brainstorming and worst possible idea to solve the users’ needs in a way that provides value to the company
- Select the most promising idea(s) based on their feasibility, desirability and viability, among other criteria
- Prototype designs, which can range from simple paper sketches to high-fidelity and interactive digital mock-ups
- Conduct usability and user tests to determine if your design(s) can be further improves
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Designer.
- Capable of defining, articulating, and building strategy around a vision for how our products should look, feel, act, and interact
- Experience structuring and leading UX research to inform product goals and design decisions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams, such as Engineering, Product, Data, and Marketing
- Able to communicate design concepts and goals to stakeholders and company leadership
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, handling multiple initiatives at once
- Experience building design systems.
- Comfortable pivoting and working with multiple teams to maintain cohesion of design systems across multiple products
- Cares deeply about user-centered product design and is motivated by creating tools that people actually enjoy using.
- Comfortable with giving and accepting constructive criticism, and incorporating feedback.
- Strong sense of ownership.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Location: Flexible working environment with three days/week in our New Haven, Connecticut-based office.
Compensation: The annual base salary for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. The actual base pay within this range depends on many factors, such as education, skills and experience. Base pay is only one part of Inbox Health's competitive total compensation package which includes benefits, perks and equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
