Responsibilities 
We are pleased to announce an opening for a UI/UX Designer role within our Public Health Systems Division. Public Health Systems advances population health management and healthcare delivery through the development of public health IT systems, health information exchange and interoperability solutions. ? As a UI/UX Designer?at Altarum, you will have the opportunity to help Altarum modernize the public health infrastructure and make a difference in your community. Our leading-edge disease surveillance solutions are helping state and local public health prepare for the next pandemic. You’ll work in an Agile environment alongside a team of Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Public Health Analysts. 
 
We are looking for a dynamic UI/UX designer who will be responsible for the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of our various public health solutions. You will ensure that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, 508 compliance, and exceptional visual design. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering adaptive and creative solutions to UI/UX design problems by staying up to date with best practices and emerging trends in user experience design and user interface technology. 

UI UX Designer Responsibilities:

    • Develop and conceptualize a comprehensive UI/UX design strategy for our clients. 
    • Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes. 
    • Design UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our solutions. 
    • Test UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages. 
    • Collaborate with the product owner, business owner, and product/service line managers, to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the digital user. 
    • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior. 
    • Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design. 

UI UX Designer Requirements:

    • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years UI/UX design experience for digital products or services. 
    • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms. 
    • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite. 
    • A team player but can work independently too. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. 
    • Familiarity with agile project management  
    • Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively, and identify and manage risk 
    • Experience developing workflows, optimizing processes, and streamlining complex workflows with creative UI designs 
    • Understanding of front-end development—including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and other responsive frameworks, JavaScript, React, and jQuery—to create interactive components. 
    • Experience with and understanding of responsive/mobile design.  
    • Understanding of Section 508 compliance and web usability best practices.
