We are looking for a talented Principal UX Designer to join our team. You will work as a member of the design and development teams across our Cloud, Physical and Applications portfolio.

The ideal candidate has experience in digital enterprise and SAAS (Software-As-A-Service) products and a passion for designing products that deliver great user experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX Designers
  • Improving the usability and user experience of Fabric Manager
  • Ideation and design of the next generation of the Fabric Manager
  • Translate product requirements, into tangible user experiences
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Working with teams across time zones.

What you’ve done:

  • A variety of web applications for expert users who need to make complex settings and policy decisions
  • Solving for layers of use cases and personas in a single UI that readily scales and adapts
  • Bespoke tables, charts and dashboard interactions for technical users tasked with making mission critical decisions for applications and infrastructure
  • Proficiency designing table-based applications with bulk interactions, dataset filtering, modular navigation and forms
  • Experience designing information appropriate visualizations, charts, and diagrams according to data type, and then investigating uses cases and testing your proposals in the field
  • Experience designing diagram creation applications, using a canvas style drag-and-drop that is interactive, scalable, responsive and accessible
  • UI Patterns that support deep and broad navigation

Who you are:

  • 12+ years as a UX Designer; minimum 3 years as project / team lead
  • Effective written and oral presentation skills in describing and detailing interaction designs
  • Able to quickly create site maps, interaction flow diagrams, and wireframes in Sketch, Figma or Framer
  • Passionate, engages others in clear and concise writing; loves writing an outline for a solution as much as designing the interaction
  • Influences team members as well as external stakeholders, and can lead round table discussions with customers and end users
  • Ability to explain advantages and disadvantages in a proposal, while keeping the audience focused on user investigation, use cases, and personas as part of a user-centered design process
  • Able to think on your feet; quickly analyze a problem, and break it down into component solutions
  • Track record of employing user research methods like focus groups, surveys, root-cause analysis, and usability in ad-hoc fashion
  • Can distill research findings and analyze customer feedback at a high level to better guide and inform stakeholders across c-suite, product, development and sales engineering
  • Performs secondary research and audits of competitive products and industry trends
  • Follows accessibility and WCAG best practices and understands the challenges around education and implementation with Dev Ops
  • Performs UX audits after handoff to ensure consistent style guide and Storybook adherence
  • Firm grasp of graphic design principles; info-hierarchy, responsive grid, composition, semantic and quantitative color palettes, color theory, contrast accessibility, and the fundamentals of typography and icon design
Tools:
    • Experience in Sketch, Figma, or Framer, HTML and CSS
    • Experience creating responsive clickthrough prototypes
    • Experience with design systems, building atomic and responsive components in Framer or master-level competency with auto layout in Figma
    • Experience with developer integrations like design tokens, Zero Height, Storybook, Full Story, Pendo would be a plus
    • Experience coding in React a plus
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in fine art / graphic design, Industrial Design, HCI, UX or related subjects from an accredited four-year institution

The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $178,000 - $231,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.  

Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefit programs, which may include health and other insurances such as life and disability, and savings accounts such as a retirement plan with company matching contributions or similar, paid time off (holidays, vacation, and sick), tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program (EAP), business travel accident insurance, employee discounts, and employee referral program. Additionally, employees may be eligible to participate in the Profit Interest Units plan.
